Re: Can not expand "nested" variables in the system path

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hi,

I just wanted to share my hack with the world because this is a really
frustrating problem:

First I set an env variable, retrieve the system path and save in a
member variable. Then I append the expanded value to the path and send
a broadcast message. Later, before the class is deconstructed, I
retrieve the path, append the variable to the end of the path and write
to the registry without broadcasting a system update. This presented
what I wanted to see in a dos shell immediately after execution but
when you went to the env applet, it displayed the variable notation.
If you click OK, the system is updated and expands the variables as
expected. I know this is a Hack but it works....
