blank line in Providers section on Advanced tab of Phone and Modem options in Control Panel

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

I would like to address my question to Andreas as he made a post to a
similar situation.

We have a 3com NBX phone system that has been working well with my Outlook
2000 and our NBX Tapi Dialer software. I upgraded to Outlook 2003 last week
as my pst file was over 1 gigabyte and size and Outlook 2000 was getting
quirky. This fixed the quirkiness, but now I can no longer dial contacts
from within Outlook and my NBX Tapi Dialer software won't load.

So when I went to the Advanced tab of Phone and Modem options in Control
Panel, I noticed that there was now a blank line at the top of my providers.
This is not the case at other workstations in our company running XP and
using the NBX Tapi Dialer (& TSP).

I found your partial response to a similar situation ...

Avaya Tapi and Goldmine Problem - David Thomas

I have been trying to solve a problem with Goldmine and Avaya (IP
Office500). Goldmine is installed on Win SBS 2003. The Tapi driver is
loaded, butGoldmine is not picking it up in the telephony section. There is
one blankline in the phone and modem section above where the Avaya Tapi
driverappears. Would this effect the likelihood of Goldmine seeing the
Tapidrivers? Is there anyway to reset the Tapi drivers back the their
originalstate? I feel like I have been going round in circles with this
problem and wonderwhether I should just re-install the OS and start from
scratch?(endcopy of post)Your response was...David,are you refering
toControl Panel / Phone and Modem Options / Advancedtab showing an empyt
line? What TSPs are listed there? What happens to the blank line when you
uninstall the Avaya TSP?If this doesn't help getting rid of that blank line
there is an option tochange the registry but I'd like to check first the
thing mentioned above. --Best RegardsAndreas Marschall

In my case, the blank line is still there after uninstalling my NBX TSP so
now I think it is time to hit regedit.

So my question to you is, "What do I search for in the registry?"

Thanks,
