I have tried an ActionTec 56 K External Modem that I used in the past with
Talking Caller ID. I have tried a Zoom 56K V.92 V.90 Modem That I think I
used in the past. The box reads Fax, Video Conferencing, Caller ID, On Board
Speaker, Modem on hold. I now cannot get it to recognize Tapi in
TalkingCallerId or CallClerk or Phone Tray or others. It finds the modem and
the Com but I really need the other functions in CallClerk.
***,
do say that it once worked a now stopped working?
If so, what did you change?
To analysze the issue top down:
- are you sure the CallerID feature is enabled by your Telco?
- does CallerID work with a phone that supports it?
- you may want to check the ModemLog whether there is any CallerID info.
Please post the ModemLog for an incoming call.
See my TAPI and TSPI FAQ:
Q: What is the ModemLog ?
http://www.i-b-a-m.de/Andreas_Marschall's_TAPI_and_TSPI_FAQ.htm#_Q:_What_is_12
BTW are those apps you mentioned using TAPI or are they accessing the modem
directly via COM port?
In the latter case your issue is OT here.

ERROR: This device does not appear to support the answering machine features

I know just enough about this to be dangerous and hope one of you can help
me. I have a need for the caller id and voice.
Thank You
