Actually, the cards DO continue to support TAPI, Intel just does not
know how to support it and has been moving away from having to deal
with calls on TAPI for several reasons. The first reason is they want
to sell you their API's which cost money and increase their bottom
line. The second is they don't understand TAPI since they had their
TSP written by an outside contractor years ago and don't have anyone
capable of maintaining it in house. Since TAPI is free and they can't
figure out a way to make money on it, well, you get the picture.

Other options are to continue to use the 5.1.1 drivers, or use the 6.0
drivers which DO come with a TSP, it is included with GlobalCall. Or,
to fill the void, we have a new Dialogic TSP that will be better than
their TSP anyway and supports ISDN. Or use our SST 2 line and 4 line
cards which are less expensive, much easier to install, better
supported, and also have a better TSP.

We continue to sell Dialogic cards, and obviously have a lot of
contacts at Intel, but it just keeps getting worse and worse over
there since Intel bought them. It is a very "big corporate" mentality
there now and they don't seem interested in the line cards. They care
about selling hugely expensive software licenses that pay a per seat
royalty and in station cards and other high density systems that are
high dollar. They make it unaffordable for the average small
developer to use there hardware, if for no other reason than they now
charge for their drivers! Wait, I bought a card for $495, and in
order for it to WORK, I need to pay $995 for what should be free
drivers? It's insane. And I know dealers can discount or whatever
with the drivers, but it is a logistical nightmare for customers.

On a positive note, I want to mention that some of their API's are
first rate and if you want to code at that level, or use a Dialogic
specific toolkit, and can live with your software being able to run
only on Dialogic cards, then they still are the Cadillac of telephony
cards, albeit at a Hummer Special Edition price.
