Here's a snip for a conversation - maybe that last paragraph, finding a
local modem developer/importer may be a lucky draw.

Yes, some. The signalling differs substantially from that used in other
countries. Most countries use modem tones for the Caller-Id, and even
those that use DTMF tones use different data formats.

Probably Dialogic or Rhetorex sell versions of their cards that will
receive Indian Caller-Id.
Your best chance is to find a company in India that manufacturers a
modem or similar device that will give the Caller-Id to your computer.
If you know some electronics you could build decoder.
