RE: read Unicode data from IPropertyStorage - continued

Hi Jesse,

Welcome to MSDN Managed Newsgroup!

I believe your previous post in this newsgroup was posted before your
nospam posting alias is recogonized by our system as a msdn subscriber,
therefore it's not listed in our internal system. This one is shown
correctly now.

Based on my understanding, your word document has some non-ASCII characters
in the summary fields and word is saving/displaying them correctly.
However, you're having trouble to read them using APIs. Please feel free to
correct me if I've misunderstood anything.

Could you please tell me what's the system default locale where Word is
running and saving the summary fields? and the other system on which you're
running your code? Can you send me a copy of the document and your code to
me so that I can reproduce the issue on my side?

In the meanwhile, since I just saw your post, I will need some time to see
if I can create a working sample on my side which can correctly retrieve
Chinese characters from a word document. I'll keep you posted.

Sincerely,
Walter Wang (wawang@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, remove 'online.')

Note: The MSDN Managed Newsgroup support offering is for non-urgent issues
where an initial response from the community or a Microsoft Support
Engineer within 1 business day is acceptable. Please note that each follow
up response may take approximately 2 business days as the support
professional working with you may need further investigation to reach the
most efficient resolution. The offering is not appropriate for situations
that require urgent, real-time or phone-based interactions or complex
project analysis and dump analysis issues. Issues of this nature are best
handled working with a dedicated Microsoft Support Engineer by contacting
Microsoft Customer Support Services (CSS) at
http://msdn.microsoft.com/subscriptions/support/default.aspx.
