Re: Server behind a router problem getting messages through

Stupid questions, but ... Does your send on a server side returns any
errors? Did you looked what WireShark shows when you send a message? (On
client machine and server machine). Once connection is established, there
should not be problems like that unless its terminated accidentally by
client side.

TCP.

I'll use whatever is doable within reason. I want to point out that going
to
router options is not possible if I'm using a service in a hotel.

I have two simple programs I got from this forum which I am testing out:
client.exe and server.exe.

My client is behind a router. Server is not. When Client connects to the
server
and sends messages (simple text string) The servers sees them OK. But
when
it
replies with an "Ok! got!" acknowledgement message it never gets to the
client.

When both are not behind a router everything works OK.

My aim is to send messages when I am traveling and in a hotel. I
probably
will be
behind a router then. How would I solve this problem?

You don't say what protocol you are using.
