I have now tested the very same executables with two Vista Computers and
guess what - it works.
Maybe it's an outdated Windows XP Problem.
The computers I have to work with are for presentation purposes running with
a 2 year old windows XP that is not updated


XP has a setting that lets you switch it to "Windows Classic" appearance, which turns off some of the eye candy. I have seen significant improvements in UDP receiving after switching it to the "Classic" look! :(
