No, of course not. Somehow I failed to grasp that requirement
from your original post though. And considering the fact you
are posting in Microsoft-specific newsgroups, I assumed you
only care about Windows.
For a cross-platform solution you'd likely prefer Flash. Hosting
it would likely differ on differnet platforms of course. Under
Windows this is again using an ActiveX Control.

One option you have is hosting the WMPlayer control. Nothing
to develop on the networking side as it's all hidden from you. All
you need to do is host the control on your application.

Folks,
i hate cross posting but never got any response;-) yeah,
posted the same question few days back at " comp . os . ms-windows .
programmer . win32 " but people gave a * about that. Maybe its too
easy that people don't bother to share Or its *ing rocket science.
Any suggestions and thoughts for writing a web video client? I'm
thinking java applet with streaming. But still don't know much about
it. Any other option or suggestion?
thanks,
ali
Alexander , many thanks for your kind response. But, do you think that
your solution can work when it comes to cross-platform? although its
quite easy and reliable when it comes to windows world.
regards,
ali
Maybe I need to write multiple clients for different OSs. Anyway, my
host is webcam so there will be continuous stream.
