That impossible because ethernet header itself have 18 bytes even without
vlan

I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction or offer some
advice. I need a protocol but I'm not sure which one. I need two
computers to communicate via the Internet with the minimum amount of
delay. The payload with be less than 15 bytes. This isn't a data
stream. It needs to be somewhat reliable and it needs to transverse NAT.
I'm willing to write the protocol, if needed. But I'm sure someone has
written a RFC for something like this.

If you want more background as to what I'm trying to accomplish keep
reading. I'm trying to write a program that will function as a network
bridge between two C.A.N (Controller Area Network) networks. This
program with probably only be used once or twice by two other
programmers, so it doesn't have to be perfect. This program will save a
lot of money due to travelling time. It's really ridiculous how much
this will save.

That's why I said payload.

Now, I'm thinking about using PPP over a dial-up connection. I know it will
be slow but I don't need the bandwidth. I just need low latency.
