RE: saving all user data

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi,
I understand that your application should store all user data in some place
where other users can read and write on it. You would like to know where to
store the data file, an application folder or registry.
If I have misunderstood, please let me know.

I prefer using an application folder which can be accessed by other users.
For registry key, it may require that the system administrator assign
permissions to other users; however I do not think that it is a good place
to store user logging data since the logging data may increase day by day
and become large at last.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to let me
know. Have a good day!

Best regards,
Charles Wang

Note: The MSDN Managed Newsgroup support offering is for non-urgent issues
where an initial response from the community or a Microsoft Support
Engineer within 1 business day is acceptable. Please note that each follow
up response may take approximately 2 business days as the support
professional working with you may need further investigation to reach the
most efficient resolution. The offering is not appropriate for situations
that require urgent, real-time or phone-based interactions or complex
project analysis and dump analysis issues. Issues of this nature are best
handled working with a dedicated Microsoft Support Engineer by contacting
Microsoft Customer Support Services (CSS) at
http://msdn.microsoft.com/subscriptions/support/default.aspx.
