what happen with data on both peers

I have an unmanaged C++ project which acts as a TCP client. However, the
C++
client uses non-blocking mode and the tcplistener in the C# project is
blocking. I am not sure if this matters, but I'm not getting any data at
the
C# client side even though the sending C++ side signals that the send was
successful. Do they both have to be of the same type, i.e. blocking or
non-blocking or could there be another error somewhere?
