Thanks for your reply, but that's not quite it.
I'll try to put it another way. Let's say the user Bob is logged into
the client machine (MachineC). His username is MachineC\Bob. This user
does not exist on the server (MachineS). MachineC\Bob has no rights
whatsoever on MachineS. Bob maps a drive to a network share on
MachineS. In order to do this he has to log on remotely to MachineS. He
logs on as MachineS\BobSmith. Permissions for files on MachineS are set
appropriately for MachineS\BobSmith. Everything works as expected.
Now, I have a server app running on MachineS. This server app has a
secured resource with ACLs set for MachineS\BobSmith. Bob runs the
client app on his machine. The client app connects to the server app.
In order for the server app to allow access to the shared resource it
needs to authenticate the user.
I could of course pop up another username/password dialog and require
Bob to log in again. But, I don't want to have to do this since he is
already authenticated via the mapped drive.
How can I accomplish this?
