wifi wlan get info about connected network

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

The ZeroConfigurationService in XP automatically connects to a wifi network
if this is reachable.
What I want to know programmatically is, how can I obtain Info about the
current connected wifi network (i.e. SSID).
What I wanna do is change the IP address an gateway depending on the
currently connected network.

As the tools from wifi nic providers can do this, I think there is some kind
of WinAPI function.
