Wireless Configuration Service (a.k.a "Zero configuration" service before
SP2) contains a 802.1x supplicant that is required for any serious wi-fi
deploymenmt these days. The supplicant does port level authentication: WPA
for 802.11 networks (later it will suport WPA2) or 802.1x for wired.
I don't know whether XPe includes WZC. Hopefully it is, because writing a
supplicant is not a simple task. Maybe you should contact Microsoft support.
about this.
