Question on MIIS, ADAM & AD

Our customer is planning to architect a SSO Solution for their customers to
logon to multiple applications. They are planning to use various ADAM
instances on 2 directory servers & a central MIIS to synch up users &
password changes with the central AD Store. In short, they are planning to
integrate multiple ADAM Stores with Central AD Store. They plan to use AD for
authentication & ADAM for authorization.

Is this doable because I thought MIIS does not handle password sync out of
the box
