Main development PC - notebook HP xe4400 - 2 GHz/1Gb RAM
Main OS - Windows 2000 Server / Domain Controller
Main RAD - Delphi 6 Enterprise
Main test environment - Virtual PC 2004
At first Virtual PC 2004 instance - Windows 2000 Server with Exchange Server
2000
At second Virtual PC 2004 instance - Windows NT 4 Server with Exchange
Server 5.5
At third Virtual PC 2004 instance - Windows XP Professional with MS Office
and other tools.
You can download trial version of OS and Servers from Microsoft site or
order evaluation kit CD - the evaluation period is 12-180 days.
http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/evaluation/trial/2003.mspx
Exchange Server 2003 trial software should not be deployed in a production
environment. You can only deploy Exchange Server 2003 trial software in a
test environment, but this is your need as I see.
Benefits of Virtual PC 2004? I not spend money for hardware. Virtual PC
2004 allows me to build private network in one PC, and simulate any software
environments. Also main (host) PC is with clean installation and I can make
any experiments over OS and ES inside Virtual PC - Virtual PC allow me to
create UNDO DISK and if something is crashed to restore previous OS
settings.
