No - not yet. This would require signifcant changes to the code. Maybe it
would be easier to isolate the issue in dedicated tool and "play" with that.

The user has all required privileges enabled and when the account is set

the service things work well. Of course I also checked the privileges with
process explorer and all required are enabled.
The point is that impersonation is different from specifiying an account
for
the service.

Another question: did you, by any chance, try having your service call
CreateProcessAsUser(): and have that newly created process execute the same
code?
