I still don't get it why you struggle with opening processes and stuff if QueryServiceConfig and the lpServiceStartName member of the QUERY_SERVICE_CONFIG struct gives you all the information you need. I use this function on a daily basis to get the user name of a service. And no, it is *not* the service name, it is the principal under which the service is running.
