Yes, I also feel strange to see that the dump only shows one thread without
the HandlerEx and ServiceMain threads present. That's why I believe these
two threads may have exited silently.

Regarding the update can not replace files issue, this is a common issue.
There must be some processes have un-closed handle blocking that file. A
simple way to find out which process is locking it is using Process
Explorer->Find->Find Handle or DLL... dialog. You may input your file name
and search in all processes handle tables.
