Thanks. Based on the 'you have to demonstrate your ignorance in public
before the search works' law of nature, I found that one just after I
posted. I was looking for something complicated and this incredibly simple
scenario was missed.
So what we need now is how to sense that the display is off, in such a way
that we know we can ignore the next click (since it's the one that caused
the system to wake up the display.)
Write a screensaver that does nothing other than post your app a message to
set a "screen off" flag?
