Let say you need a processing power 5 (arbitrary units) to
achive what you want to. If the single processor gives 1,
the playback will stutter and lag behind and the CPU usage
will be near 100%. The dual processor will give you almost
2, but this is still not enough so the playback won't be
smooth yet and the used CPU time will still be near 100%.
Play 1 stream at 1X and see what fraction of the CPU is used
on the single processor. Then you need at least 9 times
that, which may be more than 2 whole CPUs (also take the CPU
speed into account). This is not an accurate estimate but it
will give you an idea of the processing power you need. As
Peter said, an HT "CPU" is practically of no use, so we are
talking about physical cores, if not whole CPUs.
