Well, Thanks for your response,
1. The application is DShow based
2. The process of identifying the video should follow these lines:
2.1. The video to be identified is provided before the identification
process should take place.
2.2. This video should go under some kind of a process that will produce a
unique signature for it's content.
2.3. The resulting signature should be used to identify the video in
different video streams during runtime
3. The video stream being searched for the signature is played by a custom
player which will implement the identification logic ( using DShow ).

WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST WAY OF IMPLEMENTING THIS ALGORITHM?
IS THERE ANY KNOWN ALGORITHM WHICH I CAN USE TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM?
ANY HELP OR POINTERS WOULD BE APPRECIATED
