issue a pause.
this should queue the first frame down to the renderer without setting the
whole animation in motion.

> Hello. I have an interface in which several buttons are represented as
DirectShow animations on a keyboard. The buttons work fine except that
before they have been pressed (i.e. clicked on) they are not visible. I need
some way to extract the first frame of the animation and then be able to
display it to a Direct3D surface. Has anybody come across this problem? Is
there a simple solution that I am missing? Thanks in advance for any help.
