Nope. It got no replies, like this query.
It seems the people that know how to code with DirectX dont want to
share/help and those that are willing to share/help (like us) just dont
know
enough :¬/
Please get off your high horse. We are all volunteers here.
IDirectDrawColorControl is a relatively obscure interface of DirectDraw,
which in itself is not that common any more, and you are working with the
managed version, which is even less common. It is entirely possible that
no one else listening to this newsgroup has ever worked with it.
I hope that, when you have finished your experimentation and figured out
how to do it, that you post what you have learned here.
High horse? gtfo moron.
You try insulting me then state exactly the same thing as me, how the hell
is that a "high horse"?
Those that might know dont wanna help anyone in this newsgroup or the posts
I've seen dating back years with no replies on the on the web. Those that
ARE willing to help cant as they dont know enough about it. Im fully aware
people here are volunteers (as I'd expect most people are, seeing as they
SHOULD be coders) and I appreciate it, apart from the morons that have to
insult people when they wanna post something as simple as they have no clue
about an answer.
I posted in the DirectX Graphics newgroup knowing that I sucked and couldnt
figure it out. Neither can you. Tough, thats the way life goes sometimes.
Before trying to insult people, read the post, huh? and make sure your not
replying with exactly the same stuff already stated?
A simple "I've got no idea" woulda sufficed or a "I doubt anyone here
can/will reply to that as its too old/remote"
I asked what I thought were simple questions as I've only been looking at
DirectX API coding for 2-3 days before hitting those problems. Im sorry you
have no idea about ways to fix it - neither do I - and Im beginning to doubt
anyone here does. Does that mean I wont state this in a factual post when
asked about it just to spare your feelings? Hell no!!! If you cant deal
with fact the stretched back years all over the web... tough, I dont know
ya'. What this DOES mean is that I've probably gotta go out and buy more
books or chat to someone that works in a games programming company to see if
I can find an answer, which is tough luck for me - but probably needs done.
The only software house I know around here works in Direct3D though so given
that, and:
A) The class/references bundled for vb.net might be incomplete
B) Me and everyone elses seems unable to do what I "need"
C) The few people that MIGHT be able to do what I need have never shared
....these facts mean that I've probably gotta give-up on what I wanted to do
and either find another way (which would most likely be software-based and
too slow) or give-up and move over to trying to learn Direct3D instead.
If anyone knows how a newbie to DirectX that knows pretty-much nothing, has
only been looking at DirectX as few days and admits to being a noob (just
from stating whats backed-up by years of posts in groups/forums all over the
internet)... plz lemme know. (This thread doesnt look much use for anything
else now, might aswell give the troll his flaming thread)
.
