G.722.1 16kbps same as Siren at 16kpbs??

Anyone tried codec with siren? Some links say that g.722.1 at 16kbps is same
as siren at 16kbps. Any idea about how Microsoft doe sthe encode/decode???
Any thoughts or information on this is welcome.
