the correct heading?

I want to build something that will merge some of the contents of several
drives together so that the user see all this stuff inside of one namespace.
I'm thinking that if I build a redirector that will reflect back into the
local file system, but be thought of as remote by the File Manager then that
will do it.

A) Is this the right approach?
B) Is there a better approach?
C) Am I going to wrap my A$$ around the axle?
