Why network connection do not display connection icon?

i wrote a miniport driver for a virtual ethernet. but when i installed
it through windows control panel manualy. i could see the device list
that the the adapter list in, but can not find the connection icon on
the windows network connections.
so what's the problems that the driver may have, what is the main
reason that the windows network connections could not display the
connection?
