Yes if you are just talking about some functions a mini-filter may be
enough. Be aware that the kernel may have a lot operations you will find
you should do, and at some point you may discover that a file system with a
mount as a directory would be better. I've been there and wished I could
start over.

Thanks Don. I actually that thread, but this seems to be overkill for what
I'm trying to do.

Specifically, I'm perfectly happy with a standard file system if I can
just
hook some of the operations. I'm thinking of something similar to the HSM
scenarios the docs talk about. As I understand a minifilter should be good
enough for that purpose.

Am I missing something obvious here?
