Hi Eliyas,
Eliyas Yakub [MSFT] wrote:
State information is kept in the registry. Why do you care?
The reason I care is that the DDK implies the
...\CurrentControlSet\Enum\... tree is "volatile" and created on the fly
at startup. Obviously if that were true it could not persist across a
reboot.
Anyway, I'm interested to know if you're a Microsoft employee responding
to this in the context of managed newsgroups? If so, I'm not happy with
the rude way you responded.
Gerry,
Enum is not volatile. As to Eliyas's reply it was not rude, why do
you care? There are API's to determine the state, and Enum is not something
to be changed (at least in normal circumstances) so the question why do you
want the specific spot is valid.
