I'm using windbg and when I open it on the serial port, it sits there
waiting
for a connection. Sometimes it will get one, most of the time it will
wait
until I reboot. Is there something to trigger resync from either
machine? I
have both in front of me so running commands on the target is not a
problem.

Thanks

Reconnecting KD after the machine has booted-up is something
I do almost every day for different reasons (like, my debugger extension
running in KD.exe needs a process recycle, the host machine needs
to be rebooted, etc, etc).
I don't see any problem with that.

I've just installed a check build of vista, with the debugger
attached,
booting takes 60+ minutes. Without it attached booting takes 30
seconds.
Is
there a reliable way to connect the debugger over serial after the
machine
is
up and running?
