I developing a WIA scanner driver for OS WinXp and OS WinMe. In WinXp, the
driver can be installed and work finely.
But in OS WinMe, the driver cann't be installed correctly. When installing,
the WIA service cann't give the device a port (\\.\Usbscan0). And the service
did not call the driver's COM. Now I don't how to solve the problem.
Could you give me some help?
The WIA support in Windows ME is unreliable and somewhat unpredictable.
It's rather different from the support in Windows XP. My advice is that
you write a TWAIN driver, and forget about WIA. There aren't any practical
WIA applications for ME anyway.
