The differences between an app I have that does work on 64 bit XP are:

1) ZeroMemory( &deviceFilter, sizeof(deviceFilter) );

2) I am registering for the LAN guid.

As Doron says, is hDeviceNotify NULL on return from
RegisterDeviceNotificationghWnd?
