How to support foreign characters in message file?

Hello,

I'm trying to support some non-english languages in my message file. But the generated message .dll doesn't contain french accent nor german umlauts. There are only some strange characters for such characters.

I played with several commandline options of mc.exe, like -U for unicode output and -u for unicode input, but it doesn't help.

Has anyone successfully supported such languages and can give me a hint?
