Re: PC won't boot if my device is connected to the USB port

Get a USB analyzer and see what's happening on the bus. Most likely your
device doesn't respond properly to the SETUP requests. During restart, there
may be a short voltage drop on the USB power, depending on the system board
and BIOS, and it may cause your device to lock up.
