The strings in the INF file may be independent of any strings stored on the
device itself, so no, the descriptors of the device would not be sufficient.
You would need to parse the INF files or some such. By the way the device
descriptor just has the hardware IDs of the device, it is the string
descriptors which can be used to store a name for the device.
