Actually, I was discribing the serial port functionality of Solaris. There
are some issues regarding user and group permissions, but these are unrelated
to multiple handle support per se. Solaris is not an RTOS, although many
RTOSs also support multiple handes as well. Poorly written apps deserve to
crash: app writers will never clean up their act until they get their noses
rubbed in it.
