No wildcard expansion? Ever heard of quoting? Quote your arguments and
they won`t get expanded. What you suppose is less flexible but it
requires more work in the applications. Just to gain nothing since
expansion works fine the way it is.

I would not be surprised if it is in every modern UNIX but this talk was
about Linux, wasn't it?

Been there, done that, installer failed. It does not really matter,
though. I got refund for the software and I really do not need Windows
on my home PC for anything I can imagine. For my home PC, Linux works
just fine the way it is - and It would be just as OK for me if it would
only be able to handle a swap partition instead of a swap file. And
guess what, even if X does not do the colorspace transform but the GTK
or whatever toolkit, it still works fine for me.
To earn my living, I use Windows though. And it Windows also works fine
for this task ( ok, being a WDM developer there are not very many
alternatives to Windows though ). And this is just what I want: To be
able to chose the system which fits my needs best.

Are you sure, your car manufacturer produced every little part of your
car? Very well possible that it even did not produce your car's engine.
So you say that your car manufacturer is not responsible for the enginge
in this car?

You are ranting without knowledge of the topic. This is called a troll,
isn't it?
