How to determine if the Access Connectivity Engine (ACE) is installed?

I have been trying (unsuccessfully so far) to find the correct way to
determine whether the Access Connectivity Engine (ACE) is installed on a
system.
Would checking for the existence of the string value name "Path" in the
registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Access Connectivity
Engine\InstallRoot
be sufficient, or is there some other method that I should be using?
Thanks,
David
