RE: Programming hyperlink field of an MS Access Database

Hi George,

The Hyperlink field in Access is just a Memo field with a metadata
(property) to mark it as "hyperlink". This only affects the UI in Access:
there's still only the text content in it, only the Access UI will help to
show it as a hyperlink: if the text didn't have a protocol, it assumes to
http://.

You can test it using Access to verify the behavior: if you input "test" in
the hyperlink field, when clicked, it will try to navigate to http://test.
If you input "file:///c:/", it will open c:\ when clicked.
