Just for reference. The environment variable was not needed. I just
needed to correct the default home, group, default name keys in the
ORACLE and DEFAULT_HOME sections of the registry. There was a HOME0
and HOME1, from the respective first incorrect, and second correct
installations. Several were pointing to paths on the external
harddrive, or the default home, home_name, etc. were referencing the
name under HOME0, when they neeeded to be updated to match the same
keys under HOME1.
I think next time I uninstall ORACLE, I will make sure I restart my
computer, and also check the registry for any lingering keys and clear
them out before reinstalling.
