Error while opening ADO connection

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

One of our customers gets the following error, when he tries to open an ADO
connection to our SQL-Server database. I don't know exactly whether the error
occurs when the connection object is created or when the connection is
opened. The error message is:

The procedure entry point "_GetIUMS@4" could not be found in the DLL
"MSDART.DLL".

MSDart.dll is part of MDAC. The customer has installed MDAC 2.71 on an XP
workstation. Does anyone has an idea why this error can occur and what can be
made to correct the error?
