I am not trying to link to DB2/AS400 as a linked server, I am trying to
transfer data back and forth using DTS packages, but the problem would exist
in either case.
I have installed the Data Access part of Host Integration Server 2000a on
the machine in question so that I might use the OLE DB Provider for DB2 that
comes with it. I already have the latest service pack (1) for that installed.
There is no firewall between the two machines. I know the port I have used
is correct because I can connect to the AS/400 database using an OLE DB
provider from another vendor, which is configured with the same IP address
and port. I also get a different result on the port I have configured (port
8471, which yields a SQLCODE of -576) than any other port I try (which yields
a SQLCODE of -603). Do you get an SQLCODE of -576 when you change the port
to an invalid one?
To reiterate, the AS/400 is configured to use port 8471, not 446 (the
standard port).
I have investigated the links you provided, but there is nothing there that
furthered my ability to connect.
