No ODBC connection

I have upgraded my notebook and also my MS-Office, from 2003 to 2007. But I have maintained my old notebook. The new notebook is like a mirror of the old one, with the same software and directories trees. I have some Excel worksheets that import data from .dbf files via ODBC, but at the new notebook, when I load one of these worksheets, I got the message "[Microsoft] [ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified". I have done all checking but unsuccessful. The unique difference between these two machines is the name of the main user. Could that be the reason of not working? How can I fix it? Thank you for any help.
