Yes, I have the Oracle client software installed. I use TOAD and SQLPlus on
my machine. But I don't know the which lower-level Oracle APIs need to be
installed (except for the ODBC drivers). Where can I find out which APIs
and drivers are installed?
In "Add or Remove Programs", I have "Oracle 8.1.7" and "Oracle Client"
listed. What else is recommended/needed?
Thanks,
Jerry N.

With Visual Studio .NET 2005, I have created a Oracle database connection
using:
Data source - Microsoft ODBC Data Source
Data provider - .NET Framework Data Provider for Oracle
I've tried using "Data source - Oracle Database" but I don't get a list
of tables, etc.
When I try to add a table to the Data Designer panel, I get the following
error message:
---------------------------
Mouse drag operation failed.
Input string was not in a correct format..
---------------------------
Have I configured the Oracle database connection properly? Are there any
workarounds to this error?
Thanks,
Jerry N
Do you have the proper Oracle client software installed? I have found
that just using the MS supplied Oracle drivers still require the Oracle
client drivers.
