Hi,

Thank you, for your reply.

I am using this function SQLGetInstalledDrivers to get all drivers
from the local system. The problem is I need a description of the
driver to pass it in the SQLConfigDatasource. Right now I know
English, Spanish and German driver description of 6 drivers(ex:
access, text, excel...which our application supports), what if some
user is using a french OS and it has a french driver description on
his computer. How can I check it with out knowing what exactly is the
french descriptor is like.
This issue is killing me

It seems to me the easiest way would be to just populate a combo box
or list box with the names returned by SQLGetInstalledDrivers() and
use whatever the DBA chooses to make or configure a DSN. Why does
your program need to hard-wire these strings into your application?

I wonder how does Microsoft odbccp32.dll differentiate between 2
language drivers ex:Driver do Microsoft Access (*.mdb) and Microsoft
Access Driver (*.mdb). In documentation it only says the distinction
is done only using driver description which for me doesnt make sense.

Maybe they are really the same driver? Each language version of the
DLL probably also has the English string as default.
