Re: Driver: MS OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (for Vista 64)

The reason why you are not seeing the ODBC drivers in Vista 64 is that it we do not have 64 bit drivers for ODBC. If you want to use the 32 bit drivers from vista 64 you can run the odbc manager under sysWOW64 folder. BTW Vista64 will be either X64 or IA64.

Thanks. Reviewed the MSDN details on SSIS. Don't see support for
Vista64...only IA64 andX64. Do you have another solution?

I need a ODBC driver for vista 64 that will provide a contection for desktop
app to local/external db. ODBC is needed and used by Office 2007 (MS Access
DB, Excel). Vista 64 installs only with MS SQL driver. I understand Vista 32
has the ODBC driver, but I cannot use that version of the OS.

Is there a update the MS Seq Server 2005 that will install a vista 64 ODBC
driver? I have not been able to find one. Another idea I had was to somehow
use the Vista ODBC 32bit version and run it in 32 mode on the 64 bit OS.
Don't know if would work or if the ODBC Data Source Administrator would allow
it to be configured.

Unless I find a solution, I will not be able use Office 2007 programs &
other apps for access of db's when running VIsta 64.

Regards, hp
