MS ODBC and Null terminated strings

We have an all Unicode application, that uses
*only* counted-length strings, never null-terminated
strings. We are starting to use the MS ODBC
driver.

It gives us back Unicode strings. Null terminated.
Is there a way to have the ODBC driver simple fill the buffer
and give us the count?
