Hi Malcolm,
Yes, as you can see, this is a known issue in MDAC.
What is happening is that the IDBSchemaGetRowset (Indexes) is returning
unexpected column names. Unfortunantly, oracle does not provide the name of
the column that the index is based on, instead it returns the name of the
column in the index. On Desc indexes and other types of indexes the name is
some generated thing.
I check this issue, and found it was the designed behavior for Oracle. In
this case, we can understand it as the incompability between MDAC and
Oracle database. And this is by design in the Oracle provider. I'm sorry,
there is no hotfix to this currently.
