A few times I have created a new SYSTEM data source, however after I create, it does not show up in the list of datasources. If check the registry I can
see the data source listed there and if I try to create it again manually I
get prompted to overwrite it. I have some apps where I can write in the
ODBC source name (rather than pick from the list) and these all work as
well.
I am logged in as Administrator and I have logged in as most any other user
and I just cannot see the items in the list. What could be the problem?

Word 97-2003 format which can be used as a data source for either version of ... in the folder whose contents are display and you need to navigate to ... the folder in which your datasources are located by using the "Look ... (microsoft.public.word.mailmerge.fields)

If you want portable datasources you'll probably have to write custom code for that as well, although that code is a lot easier and examples for reading them are in the visio sdk. ... save the template as a vst,... reflected in the data source.... By selecting Word Documents in the Files of Type pulldown, ... the display of potential data sources to only those types of files. ... which your datasources are located by using the "Look in" pulldown at the ...
